SSC Stenographer 2024 : The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has released the SSC Stenographer 2024 notification for an Open Competitive Computer-Based Examination for the recruitment of Stenographers Grade ‘C’ and ‘D’ in various Ministries/ Departments/ Organizations of the Government of India.

No other means/mode of submission of applications will be accepted for SSC Stenographer Grade ‘C’ & ‘D’ Examination 2024. The number of vacancies advertised is tentative and may decrease or increase.

Selection Procedure for SSC Stenographer 2024

The selection process of SSC Stenographer 2024 will include a Computer-Based Examination followed by a Skill Test.

Final Selection: The final merit list will be based on the marks obtained in the Computer-Based Examination, subject to the candidate qualifying the Skill Test.

Examination Pattern and Scheme for SSC Stenographer 2024

Marking Scheme:

  • Each question carries 1 mark.
  • There will be a negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer.

Computer-Based Examination (CBT) for SSC Stenographer 2024

  • The Computer-Based Examination consists of objective-type questions and is divided into three sections:
    • General Intelligence & Reasoning,
    • General Awareness.
    • English Language and Comprehension.
  • There will be negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer in Computer Based Examination Test.
  • Marks scored by candidates in the Computer Based Examination, if conducted in multiple shifts, will be normalized by using the formula published by the Commission.

Skill Test:

Candidates of SSC Stenographer 2024 who qualify in the Computer-Based Examination will be called for the Skill Test. The Skill Test is a stenography test and will be conducted for different grades as follows:
